About
Dr. Wernick began his love for dentistry when he was in the fifth grade. His father brought the later-to-be Dr. Bob to career day aboard his navy carrier. Seeing many different positions, it ultimately was a dentist that connected to him. The dentist propped little Bobby up on a corner and let him watch as he treated patients. Thus, begun his fascination and passion for dentistry. He has never deterred his career path since then and spent the rest of his schooling prepping to be a dentist. A local of Virginia Beach, he was a Kempsville High School Chief and earned an athletic scholarship for wrestling. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1979 (Go Orange!) and then earned his degree in Dental Surgery in 1984 from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his residency at the Veterans Hospital in Ohio and returned back to our great city to open a practice in 1986. He has been in private practice since then. Dr. Wernick is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Tidewater Dental Association. He also has attended numerous extensive training at the Pankey Institute and Dawson Courses. He enjoys time with his two children, Kellan and Keith, and camping and hiking with his wife, Terri. He periodically coaches volleyball and wrestling in Virginia Beach and likes to help youths learn and get involved in sports. He is an active volunteer in the community and takes pride in watching his young patients grow into adults. Some of his patients are third generation and it brings joy to see that he has an extended family beyond his marriage, kids, peers, practice and into the lives of his patients.
