Detailed Introduction

Columbia Dental is a comprehensive dental clinic with multiple locations throughout Connecticut, including the Norwalk office at 91 East Ave. The practice is unique as a private dental practice in the state that offers all dental specialties under one roof. Their mission is to provide high-quality dental care to families, having treated over 200,000 patients since 2000. They are known for their elevated standard of care and commitment to patient convenience, with services available seven days a week, 365 days a year. The clinic's multi-disciplinary team and state-of-the-art in-house lab allow them to deliver efficient and effective dental solutions, including same-day services for certain procedures. The services offered at Columbia Dental cover a wide spectrum of dental needs. General dentistry services include routine check-ups, cleanings, and preventive care. For more specialized treatments, they have dedicated teams for prosthodontics (restoring and replacing teeth with custom prosthetics), endodontics (treating complex root canal issues), oral and maxillofacial surgery (diagnosing and treating conditions of the mouth, jaws, face, and neck), periodontics (treating gum disease), and orthodontics (correcting misaligned teeth and jaws with braces and other solutions). Their comprehensive approach ensures that patients can receive a full range of care without needing to be referred to multiple different practices. The clinic also offers emergency dental care and accepts most major insurance providers.

DO NOT go here. They have very incompetent if not outright fraudulent billing practices. I went here for two seperate cleanings in the past year. I paid the full amount at the date of each visit. Months after the second visit I recieved a bill in the mail indicating I owed them more money, and that this bill was now 31-60 days past due. The total amount of charges on the bill were not in line with the total charges of the actual service I received. The bill also indicated that I paid less than what I actually paid in person(I have proof of what I paid on my Amex statement). None of the math made any sense. I first called the local office to inquire- They were confused by it all, they couldn't make sense of the numbers either, and they directed me to the billing department. . .

I called the billing department- They were confused by it all, they couldn't make sense of it, and they said they would open a case and get back to me. Weeks passed, no response. . . but the same bill from Columbia Dental arrived, now 61-90 days past due. I called billing yet again- I explain everything yet again. Once again they don't have any explanation, are confused as to why the numbers don't add up, and claim they'll sort it out and get back to me, etc. . I ask for someone further up the line since I'd already waited weeks for this supposed callback. I get an email address of the manager in the billing department, RC. I write the billing manager an email explaining everything- No response.

After almost a week passes I sent a follow up email, still no response. Today I called billing yet again- Of course they still have no explanation, and simply repeat the same thing and insist they will get back to me(it's been months since this started and I've never recevied a single call back). If I were to have the most charitable opinion possible, it's clear that they are a very incompetent company when it comes to billing. If I were to be realistic, I think theres a chance they are purposely overbilling their patients with the knowledge that a lot of people simply pay the bills that come in the mail without thinking twice. The poor communication, the lack of call backs, and the fact that nobody has any explanation(yet the bills keep coming) is incredibly shady. Time is money and I've wasted a ton of time on this. At this stage, with the bill almost 120 days past due, I'm seemingly forced to either pay what appears to be a fraudulent bill or accept a negative hit on my credit score. If you're ok with all this then best of luck to you, but I won't set foot in their practice again which is unfortunate as the staff at the local Norwalk location were nice, but there are some major issues at this company. Check out how they're doing on BBB. org

Rotating dentists, broke my tooth and constantly spam me with texts and calls. I haven't been to them in nearly 10 years yet they still spam me.

Always an issue with staffing here. After they rescheduled my appointment twice, I finally have a confirmed appointment today and the door is locked. I spoke to someone from the Manchester location and even they weren’t able to contact the supervisor. If we miss our appointment we get a cancellation fee, but if the staff doesn’t show up, who cares, certainly not Columbia Dental.

The worst Dental dentist they have student practising playing in your mouth who don't have a clue and giving wrong info for the business to make money unfairly. I received a collection letter like a week ago that I owe money from 2019 and I was still going there 2020 and noone would told me that after they said the insurance paid and nothing was owing. They didn't even reach out to me they send my name to collection to mess up my credit. I reach to the account dept by email to date no response and send another this morning for an update because this is not fair to customer. Worse place ever to go.
