Dr. Fortner and office team takes great pride in providing a family atmosphere. Yes, they provide exceptional dental services. However, they get to know you as an individual and treat you like family, even though they get to see you once or twice a year. We are moving away from the Richmond Virginia area and we will certainly miss the Fortner team being apart of our life.

Reader beware: the amazing reviews on this location were for when this was Dr. Fortner's practice. It is no longer his, as he has retired. The new company that took over is not the same and does not operate at all like Dr. Fortner has in the past. Dr. Fortner was an amazing dentist and my family and I truly miss him and his staff. I returned to this office for an issue with a crown and some pain around it. Dr. Fortner would have fixed the issue with no problems. Unfortunately, I did not receive the same treatment with the new dentist and staff.

I was looked over and the issue found. The assistant then presented me with paperwork, asking me to sign to agree to $1200+ worth of work as the insurance would not cover the crown at this time. (It had not been a certain number of years yet, so zero coverage. ) I said no that I would not be able to sign that paper. The assistant pressed me (several times) to sign it saying it was just permission to do the work and I would not be expected to pay that amount. I pointed out to her that those were the exact words on the paper though: "I agree to pay ____. " So I refused to sign and wanted to speak with the dentist again about alternative treatment and why she can't just put my crown back on. I was advised that because the crown wasn't on correctly before, there was now tooth decay under the crown. I asked that isn't that why the crown is on the tooth anyway? To protect it? We made an a different plan that was still costly but not over $1000. New paperwork required with new amount on it. I share this story because the reviews you see posted that rave about Dr.

Fortner and his team are accurate. That office was amazing. But if you're looking for a dentist, don't go now based on those reviews as they are misleading. The new owners are quite different and operations are nothing like they were. Much of the staff left as well when Dr. Fortner retired. We miss them terribly and I am so very grateful for how they loved on my family, caring so well for my children especially. We miss you, Dr. Fortner, Alisa, Fran, Colleen, Sue, Katherine, Kim, and Martha!
