The Open Door family medical center- Mamaroneck is part of a larger network of federally qualified community health centers that have been serving the Lower Hudson Valley region since 1972. What began as a free clinic in a church basement in Ossining has grown into a multi-site organization with locations in Ossining, Port Chester, Sleepy Hollow, Mount Kisco, Brewster, and Mamaroneck, as well as school-based health centers. The organization's mission is to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible health care and wellness services to the community, particularly for those who are economically disadvantaged or uninsured. The Mamaroneck location, which opened in 2017, offers a wide range of services to patients of all ages. These include primary medical care, dental services (such as limited root canals, crowns, and bridges), behavioral health care including psychiatry, and women's health care with obstetrics and gynecology. The clinic also provides specialty services like chronic disease education and management. Open Door operates on a sliding fee scale, meaning the cost of services is based on a patient's income, ensuring that no one is turned away due to their inability to pay. The center is a Joint Commission (JACHCO) accredited facility and accepts most forms of private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare. The staff is incredibly rude and provides abhorrent customer service. I scheduled an appointment three months in advance only to find out that the appointment was scheduled on a day when the dentist wasn't even there. Instead of apologizing, she did nothing but blame me for my mailbox being full when she tried to reach me THE DAY BEFORE to tell me that the dentist wouldn't be there. I understand people screw up but she gave me nothing but the attitude the entire time and then offered to reschedule the appointment for TWO MONTHS LATER. I have never been treated so badly by someone in customer service in my life.

She had three months to let me know the appointment was cancelled and there was no attempt to contact me via text or email. Edit: The company reached out to me and apologized and offered me an appointment for the following week. The issue is now resolved and I look forward to a better customer service experience with them going forward.

Erin Carey is the best doctor I've ever had in my entire life! She is sweet and energetic and she always listens to what I have to say. She even explains the type of medication I will be getting and how it works when most doctors would never put that type of time and care towards a patient. You can tell that she has actual passion and love for her job.

All of the nurses and support staff are super nice and upbeat too! They always genuinely want to know how I'm doing and you can tell they actually really do care about the work they do. There may be a bit of a wait to get an appointment but it's worth it for the level of care you receive.

Today I went to the clinic with panic syndrome and anxiety. I was desperate, crying because I was urinating a lot and didn’t know the cause. I went without an appointment, so desperate that I was even buying my return ticket to Brazil.

I was very well attended by the reception, the nurses are great, they calmed me down and were patient, and the doctor was also a 10. Thank you for the great service. ”
