We visited 6/1/2018 and liked the place as well as whole team. They are fantastic. My daughter always scared to simple injection and no dentist could touch her earlier. Now she is willing to go again to extract her another teeth! Dr. Sonkins are very friendly and likeable to kids. Awesome place for you dental services.

I must say the EXPERIENCE i had at Sonkin was Amazing. I hate going to dentist, the last time I was at dentist office was about 7 years ago. Now, needing to get root canal forced me to go. The experience at Sonkin has really changed my perception of dentist offices. The Passion and Professionalism that goes into each patients is amazing.

They explain the process in detail and are very gentle. Thank you Dr. Sonkin.

I’ve been going to Dr Sonkin for years. Hands down the best dentist. His expertise and humor takes all the stress out of dental visits. He took care of my daughter through her teenage invisiline tooth straighten.

She adores him. He’s taken something out of my husbands eye that would have taken him to the ER if he didn’t just so happen to have a dentist appointment that day. He’s the best… one of a kind.

Disappointing Experience – Unprofessional Interaction Unfortunately, my experience with Roy Sonkin's Dental office was extremely disappointing—and it didn’t even get past the initial phone call. I called to inquire whether the office was accepting new patients. Lillian answered the phone and immediately had a rude and undermining tone when requesting insurance information. I provided my insurance details and mentioned that my husband also has coverage for our daughter. When I stated that my insurance is a PPO, Lillian interrupted and said, "We don’t take HMOs here. " I politely corrected her by saying, “It’s actually a PPO,” but she seemed annoyed and dismissive. She said she would call me back after checking if either plan was in-network. When she returned my call, she informed me that my husband’s insurance was not accepted and proceeded to assume that I wouldn’t want to pay out of pocket, saying something along the lines of, “I know you don’t want to pay out of pocket, etc.

, etc. ” I asked, “Are you sure I wouldn’t want to pay out of pocket?” Her tone changed, and she backtracked, asking, “Oh, do you want to pay out of pocket?” I then requested that she check my insurance instead, since my daughter is covered under both plans. I explained that my insurance is a PPO and my birthday comes first in the calendar year—per the commonly used Birthday Rule, my plan should be considered primary. Lillian dismissed this and said, “That’s not how it works—your husband is primary and that’s that. ” At no point did I receive an answer to my original question: “Are you accepting new patients?” Instead, I was belittled, talked down to, laughed at, and ultimately turned away because my husband’s insurance wasn’t in-network—despite the fact that mine may have been. I want to clarify that cost was never an issue. My husband is a civil servant, and I work for a leading digital tech company. What was frustrating was the tone, assumption, and lack of professionalism shown by Lillian.

If this is the front-line representation of the dentist, I would strongly encourage others to look elsewhere for care. It’s disheartening because my insurance company gave a glowing recommendation of this provider, but that was not my experience.
