Dr. Shipley is by far the best dentist I have ever gone to and I’m in my early 50’s so I’ve been to more than a couple. Very kind man and very knowledgeable and does great work.

I have now seen Dr. Shipley for several procedures and have not been disappointed. He is not only knowledgeable, he is friendly and strives to make patients feel comfortable. In the past, other dentists have tried to sell me services that weren't needed. Dr. Shipley and the staff at Alamont don't do this.

If they see something that needs immediate attention, they will make their recommendations and provide options, but will not pressure patients into having procedures that aren't absolutely necessary. While making my last appointment over the phone, I was told what my out-of-pocket expense would be. His staff contacted my insurance company ahead of time, found out what my financial responsibility would be, and told me before I even walked into the office. There were no surprises. I would recommend this practice to anyone needing dental care because of their honesty, professionalism, and friendliness.

Reviewing Dr Shipley and Alamont Dental as a whole. The overall staff at Alamont Dental are great to work with. The hygienist and Shipley's assistant was great. Billing and insurance staff was also great. Next paragraph is where it really goes downhill from here. . . I had a tooth extraction a few months ago by Dr Shipley. However, today I have bone under the gum which is very painful. I asked to be worked in on 7/25/2024 which I was granted at 3:30 PM but receptionist couldn't promise that Dr Shipley would be able to take care of it plus extra sensitive tooth on upper left last tooth. Due to the pain, I was checking other Dentists in the area who could help me. Since he extracted that one tooth the bone under the gum should have been fixed by Dr Shipley to fix his mistake same day. My crowns looked like chicklet chewing gun which also maxed my insurance out. My last visit with Shipley I pleaded with him about extreme sensitivity on the upper left which he said there was nothing wrong.

So, all he did was do a little patch up filling on surface of bottom teeth. A few days later the work chipped off, so I have half a filling. This was early July 2024 approx. SEE ATTACHED PICTURE OF CHIPPED FILLING IN BAG! After exhausting my resources, I was able to get into a dentist on 7/25/2024 but all they did was do x-rays and evaluation. At that point I walked out the door with no resolution. I called Dr Shipley's office Friday, July 26, 2024, to see if there were any cancellations or ability to be worked in to at least take out the bone from the extraction site he made. Receptionist kindly told me he wasn't accepting any work-ins period today. Receptionist also advised there were no cancellations. So I then called Brown Dental and they could at least see me in 3 days coming up on Monday, July 29, 2024, but since they didn't do the extraction, I will be responsible for charges resulting in removing bone fragment from extraction site. I called Alamont back once more to see if they could at least take care of the painful bone fragment from the extraction Dr Shipley done. The receptionist advised me to hold, and she would ask Dr Shipley. 5 minutes later she came back and advised she has Dr Shipley on the phone. He said bluntly that I quit harassing his staff which I wasn't doing. He advised, "You can come in Tuesday, or I can dismiss you as a patient as if I was a piece of garbage! He had zero empathy towards me as a patient in need.

I was baffled by the way he acted towards me. I was speechless but told him I would take Tuesday. About an hour later I called back and advised I wished to withdraw myself as a patient of Dr Shipley. As I said above if he would have extracted the upper left tooth on my last appointment I wouldn't have been in this situation. He didn't understand my pain level one bit and didn't show he cared on the last visit with him. Ultimately, the pain got worse to where it is today. More current x-rays from Aspen Dental shows the tooth was in need of care for quite some time which got neglected by Dr Shipley. In the end I do have bad teeth which runs in my family on my Mom's side. I told them that and it seems like they are in it for the money buy maxing my insurance out for the year. Now it will be January 2025 before my benefits reset. I agreed for their advised treatment plan but it didn't fix the issues I still have currently.
