I moved to Glen Allen from Ashburn few months ago. My bank manger referred me to Dr Tse. I went just for a cleaning. Then a pain started on my left side tooth. Which tooth I couldn’t figure out. Waited few days with pain killers. Pain was gradually escalating. My entire left side had pain. Pain was radiating towards the entire left side my head also my neck. I called Dr Tse’s office left message, next morning his office called me told me to get there ASAP he will see me.

When I went there, Dr. Tse asked me which tooth has the pain. I couldn’t answer ( sounds stupid). My entire left side was in pain. He found the bad tooth( epicenter of the pain). Treated me so well that I’m totally totally pain less. Thank you Thank you Dr Tse. Life saver.

Updating my review after having service done by Dr. Tse. While I do think he did a good job on my fillings, there were a few things off putting. First, he coughed over me while doing work instead of turning his head away. He coughed so much the assistant even asked if he was okay. Even though he wore a mask, it was still off putting because germs can still get through the mask. Secondly, I expressed concerns of using epinephrine as a numbing agent because I had issues previously with it causing high heart rate and I already get heart palpitations. He made it seem like that was a bad decision due to it wearing off quicker and needing more injections. I appreciate him letting me know that, however, I have had work done before without the epinephrine and it didn’t go like his did.

It was a better experience with other doctors. I wasn’t in pain but I did feel sensitive to the nerve which I let him know. I felt like he gave me too much numbing because it started numbing the other side of my face. Then he made a comment like “I tried to warn you” but the sensitivity was not due to it wearing off because it was sensitive when he first started working. They kept putting air on the teeth when they weren’t covered which caused extreme sensitivity. Instead of being empathetic, he asked me to please stop moving. Which I understand needing to finish the job, but it just kind of felt like they didn’t have the best bed side mannerisms. I’m hesitant to return. The front desk staff also doesn’t seem the friendliest.

My first appointment when they did the X-rays went much better. Maybe I caught them on an off day. I do think his work was amazing. My teeth look great and he took his time making sure the bite was right. I also enjoy watching Netflix while they work. Took the edge off as I get anxious at the dentist.

My complaint is with The person Kelly or whoever answers the phone … I was inquiring to become a new client due to my brother in law referring me to this place, around June 9th … My previous dentist that I loved, unfortunately had to drop my company’s insurance carrier…. I emailed her (the person who answers the phone ) my insurance details as instructed …. I emailed the front and the back of the card … she said she could not verify it . I ended up finding out that apparently, the wrong number was listed on the back for verification (not my fault .

. for some reason, Blue Cross BS lists the medical phone number on the back of the dental cards WHICH makes zero sense , . . but again, I had no clue) … I then decided to call the number listed on the back and was told by the insurance agent that unfortunately it was the wrong number ….

She provided me the correct number … I emailed short pump dentistry person the correct phone number …. I reached out about 3 TIMES and she said she would work on it and still nothing to THIS DAY … I am going to someone else … 😡TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE . Please someone council that person

My husband and I have been going to Short Pump Family Dentistry for a few years now, and Dr. Tse has by far been the best dentist we have ever had. He and his staff are incredibly kind, professional, and thorough. Dr. Tse is a complete rock star.

Not only does he do amazing work, but he remembers even the smallest and most random details about you—even after not having seen you for 6 months! I really enjoy going to comic cons, and he always asks me how they are going, and really cares about you as a patient. Sadly we are moving out of state, so we will no longer be able to attend Short Pump Family Dentistry, but I highly recommend them if you are looking for an excellent dentist who is not only very professional but is also patient, kind, and attentive. Thank you Dr Tse, we will miss you and your staff greatly.
