Dr. Braxton’s response to parental concern is disappointing. My daughter, 3 years old, had to have 4 cavities worked on. On her FIRST visit she did a fill AND cap. She did TWO VIALS of numbing on my daughter, and I was told that she would be numb for about two hours, she was numb for 12! When I reached out the following day due to swelling of my daughter’s lip, I was told that it was because she bit/bawled at her lip in her sleep. Dr. Braxton even said she usually only does a tooth at a tine, so why would you chance that on a 3 year old?! On her second visit I let it be known that if numbing wasn’t necessary to please avoid it. And it was.

Today was her final fill and I voiced my concern and Dr. Braxton’s response was very snappy and belittling. She stated she used a stronger dose of numbing and that “we can’t go back now”. I made the statement of consent to dosing strength being used on a THREE YEAR OLD and it was met, yet again, with a snarky remark, of “what do you want me to do, she’s already received the numbing medicine”. I was not rude or disrespectful, but that’s what’s was provided in return to my voicing my concern. During my daughter’s fill she had a very stern tone toward those assisting. My daughter began to cry and asked her to get off of her, she rolled her eyes and asked what I wanted to do. Did not try to console her or anything.

After she was done she snatched her gloves off and flung them as if she had an attitude. She directed the young lady assisting (one of the sweetest assistants in the practice, her name isn’t coming to me at the moment) to provide gauze for us before we left. Would not recommend this dentistry for children under 6 years old. My daughter is traumatized due to this woman. 100% not okay.

My 2 year old has been seen at Toothbeary since he turned 1. We always have such a pleasant experience with the dental assistants and Dr. Braxton. The office is so cute and welcoming for the littles.

Thank you to the dental assistant Meena (I wish I asked how he spells his name) for his patience and caring spirit with my son during his cleaning. I will always recommend this office to other families.

Dr. Braxton is very friendly, and I appreciate the care she provides. However, I’ve noticed a pattern in the reviews where patient concerns are dismissed rather than addressed with accountability. It’s disappointing to see a professional argue with patients instead of taking feedback as an opportunity to improve.

I believe she can do better in creating a more open and understanding environment for concerns to be heard and resolved. Honestly, seeing how feedback is handled made me more uneasy than the visit itself. I chose her because often people who look like us are not in these type of positions of leadership or ownership and I deem her to be trustworthy, but reading the response to these reviews was definitely uncalled for behavior. We still love you tho !
