As a Registered Nurse, I am extremely disappointed with the services I received today. Initially, I had given a five-star review based on my first visit, but unfortunately, my experience today has completely changed my opinion. The visit started off well, but things quickly took a turn when it came time to take my blood pressure. The cuff used was clearly too small for my arm, and unsurprisingly, it produced an error message. Instead of correcting the issue with a properly sized cuff, the staff member placed the cuff on my forearm and obtained a reading of 178/103. I know this reading was inaccurate, as I have never had a blood pressure that high in my life. He then attempted to use a wrist monitor, placing it on the wrong wrist, which also resulted in an error.

I had to place the monitor on the correct wrist myself, and the reading came back as 145/88 — slightly elevated, but understandable considering my anxiety about the tooth extraction. What troubled me most was that I was asked to sign the consent to treat form with the inaccurate 178/103 blood pressure reading listed. When I expressed concern about documenting an incorrect value, the response I received was, “If you don’t sign, we won’t do the extraction. ” I was never refusing to sign consent — I was objecting to the inclusion of an inaccurate and misleading blood pressure reading. Rather than having someone calmly explain or address my concern, it felt like I was given an ultimatum: accept the error or forgo treatment. After the procedure, I was given minimal post-care instructions and sent out without any real guidance, as if I were just another number. As a healthcare professional, I strongly urge your team to be better trained in accurate blood pressure assessment and patient communication.

Proper cuff sizing is essential, and it absolutely affects the accuracy of the reading. Please consider having a full range of cuff sizes available — both larger and smaller — and ensure staff are using them correctly. Advocating for myself and others is important to me, and I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously. It important that i have a team of individuals that provide great care all around, not just with the customer service- front office.

As a first time patient of Aspen Dental, I am more than pleased! They made sure to take their time and explain in detail each step they needed to take to get my mouth healthy again. I also really appreciated the private conversation I was able to have with the business office manager regarding costs. I will definitely be a returning customer.
